Unleashing the Artist Within

Whether it’s drawing, painting, or even gluing pasta to paper, your child will soon be making all sorts of interesting pictures to bring home to show you.

Our son, Aiden, became so into this that we found him drawing, coloring, and painting all the time. He loved the things he could create.  His imagination was even more vivid when he explained the pictures. There were elaborate stories, bizarre themes, and all sorts of non sequiturs to follow.

My wife decided to enroll him in an art class, one that she would take with him, and his excitement grew even more. Soon we had his hand-made ceramic mugs, fabric creations, and all sorts of paintings, frames, seasonal decorations, and indescribable artistic stuff filling the house.

The best thing about watching Aidan make art was the pride he exuded for everything he created. Whether he had written his name somewhere in the picture or drew his family in chalk on the driveway, his face lit up and he was undeniably thrilled.

Let your child embrace his or her creativity. Expose them to various forms of art. It may just bring out an even more wonderful side of them.
